Artificial stone is a type of decorative material that is artificially synthesized. According to the different adhesives used, it can be divided into two types: organic artificial stone and inorganic artificial stone. According to the different production processes, it can be divided into four types: polyester artificial marble, composite artificial marble, silicate artificial marble, and sintered artificial marble.
Among the four types of artificial stone decorative materials, the organic type (polyester type) is the most commonly used, and its physical and chemical properties are also the best.
Marble is a high-end decorative material that must be carefully selected to avoid wasting money. Identifying the appearance quality of marble can be done from the following aspects.
(1) Determine the color tone of the pattern. Under sufficient lighting conditions, place the selected marble slabs and other marble slabs to be selected from the same batch flat on the ground, standing 1.5m away from them and carefully observing. The pattern and color tone of the same batch of marble slabs should be basically harmonious.
(2) Check for surface defects. Under sufficient lighting conditions, place the board flat on the ground and stand at a distance of Lin from the marble board to observe any defects that are not visible. It is considered that there are no defects; Defects that are visible at a distance of Lin from the board but not obvious at 1. sin are considered as no obvious defects; A defect that is clearly visible at a distance of 1. sin from the board is considered defective. The specific observed defects include board warping; Whether there are cracks, sand holes, discolored spots, stains, and dents on the surface of the board. If it is determined that the above defects are not present, the board is of superior quality, and there must be no defects such as missing edges or corners on the front of the board; If the above defects are not obvious and there are no obvious missing edges or corners, then this board can be considered as a first-class product; If there are several defects but they do not affect the use, and there is only one missing edge or corner on the front of the board with a length not exceeding 8mm and a width not exceeding 3mm, then the board can be judged as a qualified product. If the board is damaged during transportation, loading and unloading, it can be bonded (for broken boards) or repaired (for angular defects, surface potholes or pits). But after bonding and repairing, there should be no obvious marks on the front, and the color should be close to the front color.
(3) View tags. The marking order of marble slabs is: naming, classification, specification size, grade, standard. The naming order of marble slabs is: place name of raw material origin, name of pattern color characteristic, and marble (code M). Marble slabs are divided into two categories: regular slabs (code N): square or rectangular slabs; Special shaped sheet (code S): refers to sheets of other shapes. There are three grades of marble slabs: premium grade (code A), first-class grade (code B), and qualified grade (code C). The classification is based on the allowable deviation of the specifications and dimensions of the board, the allowable limit tolerance of flatness, the allowable limit tolerance of angle, the appearance quality, and the mirror glossiness.
